The British Council is the Controller of the information that you provide for the purpose of
processing your registration on the eNetEnterprise (Onboard) platform used for the British
Council's education agents and counsellors training and engagement. This means that the
British Council is responsible for determining how your information is collected and used.

Collection of information about your special medical needs or disabilities is optional, and
we do it to ensure we adjust event organisation and training to your needs, in line with the
British Council's global Policy and Standards on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
The legal basis for processing your personal data for these purposes is your consent. You
have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. If you withdraw your consent to be
featured on the Open Access List and have registered as an Agent or Counsellor, you will no
longer be searchable on the publicly accessible Open Access List. Please contact British
Council directly at agentandcounsellorenquiries@britishcouncil.org to remove your consent.
For these purposes, British Council will share your personal information with following
organisations that are acting as Processors:

Facebook (Meta), Twitter (X), Instagram, LinkedIn, WeChat, Weibo (available only in
China) – for communication and engagement.
In order to achieve the necessary purposes outlined above, your personal information will be
securely transferred and/or stored in the following locations: UK, EU (Microsoft AZURE;
ICEF; Facebook (Meta); Instagram; WeChat), Ireland (eCom Scotland Limited; Twitter (X)),
USA (ApplyBoard; Facebook (Meta); Instagram; LinkedIn), South Africa (M&ESURE),
Singapore (WeChat), China (Weibo). Personal data will be potentially collected from agents
and counsellors from all countries worldwide.
We will keep your personal information that you have provided for registration to be featured
on the Open Access List of trained Agents and Counsellors for a period of two years after
the date of certification AND then for a further period of six months to allow re-certification. If
after that six-month period, you have not been active on the system your personal
information will be archived and deleted from the system after five years.
Personal information of users who have not been active on the eNetEnterprise (Onboard)
system after a period of six months AND are not certified will be archived and deleted from
the system after two years.
We will review your personal data used for direct marketing annually from the time of
collection and will keep it until you request to opt out.
The British Council complies with data protection law in the UK and laws in other countries
that meet internationally accepted standards.
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold on you, and the right to ask
us to correct any inaccuracies in that information. If you have concerns about how we have
used your personal information, you also have the right to complain to a privacy regulator.
